I have used Whitman books for years and have nearly 100 of them...this one is absolute garbage!!!! the holes for the coins are way too small...the only way I could get a quarter in them was to line it up just so, and smack it with a hammer, which defeats the point, because this scratches up the coins!!!! Yes an actual hammer...I am 250 lbs. and lift weights 5 days a week...I could not force it into those holes by hand. Utter disappointed by this, and since I have torn the book trying to get them in by hand - I am certain they will not take it back for a refund - AVOID THIS!!!

I was very surprised when I received this. It was only for 40 states! I must admit, I didn’t remember the span of years the quarters were issued. It clearly stated 1999-2001. In order to place the other 10, you need to buy Vol. 2 as well. I didn’t see that it was for 40 states in any of the reviews. So I just wanted to make others aware of that.As many others said, the quarters do not fit in the hole unless you use a hammer-type aid.

WHY has Whitman NOT recalled every last one of these poorly manufactured books. In addition there was one slot with a torn back. WHITMAN TAKES THESE BOOKS OFF THE MARKET. AND....Give me my money back. Bad experience.

This is an exceptional bargain as well as a great way to save the statehood quarters. There is a slot for each of the first ten quarters produced at both the Denver Mint and the Philadelphia Mint.Having never collected coins before, I had a bit of a problem getting the quarters to stay in their slots. But if you press firmly in the center of the quarter then press firmly along the circumference of the quarter, the quarters will stay snug.I am ordering three more of the first sets for my nieces and nephew. And I plan to order the others in the statehood series to present to them as a graduation present from high school as a token of the turn of the century.

The holes were too small to put the coins in comfortably. This is good for serious collectors, but for people who just want to enjoy the coins while having fun should look elsewhere. Trying to get my money back was a headache and not worth it. :(

These books are great although sometimes the coins don’t actually fit in the designated holes. my daughter still loves to use them though

The slots for the coins are too small. The quarters have to be hammered into place with a rubber mallet!

Kid friendly. 10yr loves it & can organize his coins by himself. Thank you for making my life easier.
